Cozy Winter Mantel

Can you believe it is December already? Where has the year gone? This has been a busy week for me! I shared my home tour and now I am back to show you my cozy winter mantel for the Home for the Holidays Home Tour.

I love my neutral decor and during the holidays it is no different. When we originally moved into our home, there was a gas fireplace. But, it wasn’t working properly. Long story short, we ended up having to make a decision to purchase a brand new one or replace it with a large window. We chose the large window and I couldn’t be happier. Now you ask, how do I ever decorate a mantel for the holidays without a fireplace? The answer…create a faux one.

So beautiful! This cozy winter mantel from dandelionpatina.com combines neutral decor with textural elements. This mantel can be left all season long! #mantel #farmhousestyle

I originally wanted my husband to build me a fireplace frame/mantel similar to this one. But, as luck would have it, I found it on Craigslist for so much less than the materials would cost. So, with that savings we added the shiplap to the wall for texture. I love how it turned out. Our walls are all painted in Benjamin Moore Coastal Fog. It is an amazing neutral color with a sandy color during the day and then in the evening it changes to a warm foggy gray.

Amazing rack right? These white antlers from Target give a rustic yet feminine feel. I love how they were incorporated into a vintage frame on this cozy winter mantel via dandelionpatina.com #mantel #farmhousestyle

I discovered these white antlers while browsing Target.com one day. I was not sure what I was going to do with them, but I knew I had to have them. I had some vintage wooden frames lying around the basement, so I thought I would paint them up to frame the antlers. What do you think?

If you follow me at all, you know I love mercury glass during the holidays. It is a simple way to dress your decor up and make it shine! I also love incorporating vintage books into my vignettes. The patina and character they have ties in so well with the glam of the mercury glass.

Neutral Fall Mantel

Happy fall to you! I am sharing our neutral fall mantel today. The fall season is not quite here yet, but it is my favorite season, so I am getting a jump start on decorating.

INSPIRING FALL DECORATING RIGHT HERE! This rustic neutral fall mantel is the perfect mix of farmhouse and industrial style. Perfection from the chippy white window to the wooden tobacco baskets. Fall mantel inspiration from dandelionpatina.com #farmhousestyle #rustic

My decorating style continues to evolve from my rustic fall mantel last year. My mantel last year incorporated vibrant oranges and greens. Over the past year, I have been moving back to neutrals. Neutrals are my comfort zone and each time I attempted to incorporate a colored wall or bold furniture piece, I always changed my mind or grew tired of too much color. I love how neutrals add a bright and fresh feel to our home.

To style my neutral fall mantel, I pretty much shopped my home this year! I incorporated a few cute little pieces from the Dollar Spot at Target-the acorn garland across the window, a few burlap pillows on the chair, and the chicken wire pumpkins. Every other piece was found somewhere in my home. But, I will share with you a source list so that you can create the look as well easily.

SO ADORABLE! This neutral fall mantel is the perfect blend of farmhouse and industrial style. I love neutrals with texture and wooden elements. Fall mantel styled by dandelionpatina.com #farmhousestyle #fallmantel

Aren’t these chicken wire pumpkins the cutest things? I thought they each deserved a pedestal, so I placed them on top of vintage crocks and added some straw for a farmhouse feel.

I love incorporating architectural salvage into my vignettes. This piece works nicely with the galvanized letters I picked up last year at Michael’s.

These chunky metal and wood lantern style vases are amazing! They were a great deal of the day from Decor Steals. I fell in love with them the minute I saw them and I was so pleased when I opened the box. They have been a staple in my decor ever since! Love them.

Did I mention their size? They are incredibly chunky and tall. Each one would look lovely as a table centerpiece or a few on a large harvest table. An arrangement of twigs and wood flowers give this statement piece life.

The vintage crocks were found at estate sales. Each one has its own character and size. I love this one because it almost has the veining appearance of marble to it.

I fell in love with this vintage wooden chair. It is not in the best condition, but the cane seat and details legs were all that it took for me to dig into my purse and shell out the $7 at a garage sale. And, don’t get me started on the fun tobacco baskets.

This acorn was part of the vignette I created last year with my coco nutty sweater acorns.

Do you love neutral decor? This neutral famhouse fall mantel is to die for! She shopped her home to blend these pieces into a gorgeous fall mantel. Styling by dandelionpatina.com #farmhousestyle #fall

I hope you enjoyed my neutral fall mantel. It was so much fun styling the space and I can’t wait until the leaves start changing!

Pop of color summer mantel

Pop of Color Summer Mantel

Who loves adding a pop of color in their homes?

It is fun, but for me, it needs to be the right pop, ya know what I am saying?! I need a pop of color that looks natural and beautiful against my coastal fog walls, soft gray mantel, and wood tone accessories. What could blend in so well with those colors and pop at the same time?

Well, that would be green!

Do you want to enjoy a pop of color in your home this summer but don't want to break the bank doing it? This is a simple summer mantel showcasing Mother Nature's greenery from your backyard and some gorgeous Birch Lane bud vases from Wayfair.

This is my pop of color for my summer mantel. Mother Nature is the best designer in the world. She has the color wheel mastered! So, taking advice from Mother Nature I brought some natural elements into my home. Not only does this freshen up any space, but it also is easy on the checkbook. Just walk out into your backyard and take some clippings of interesting foliage. It can be hostas and ferns….even some weeds from the ditch can create a beautiful display.

I love how these bud vases pop against the brown texture of the wicker and my arrow wall art.

I tried to pick out interesting foliage. Some leaves are curly, some have beautiful curves. A few have dainty leaves and various shades of green.

And, I have to say, these Ainsley bud vases do not disappoint. I was pretty giddy when I opened this happy mail! These vases are offered from a sister company of Wayfair, Birch Lane. The glass is thick and has a green tint to it. I was reminded of vintage glass bottles when I first laid eyes on them. I also love that each bud vase has its own unique character.

They can be grouped together like above or …..

displayed with just one bud vase and a simple fern stem. I also love the fact that you receive 6 of them! Um…yes…SIX OF THEM. If you preferred to display them all separately you could have fresh cut flowers in every room of your home. How is that for versatility?

green pop of color summer mantel

I hope I inspired you to take a stroll through your backyard or neighborhood and grab some fresh greenery to bring into your home. I love how these simple touches brought in that much needed pop of color for my summer mantel.

Which is your favorite way to display bud vases?

Do you want to enjoy a pop of color in your home this summer but don't want to break the bank doing it? This is a simple summer mantel showcasing Mother Nature's greenery from your backyard and some gorgeous Birch Lane bud vases from Wayfair.

I was compensated by Wayfair for this post. All opinions about bringing the outdoors in, Mother Nature being the master of design, and green as my favorite pop of color are my own.
