Who doesn’t love super cute and simple fall outfits? I love the fall season for so many reasons! One of these reasons is that it becomes fairly easy to be fashionable in the fall because you can layer and coordinate pieces so easily. I also find it easier because I am covering up much of the “exposed” areas that I am not too happy with during the summer season. I just feel way more confident dressing in comfy cardigans and jeans during the fall season. Perhaps I need to start doing some Sweat app exercises, huh? But, then I would have to give up my Starbucks macchiatos and who wants to do that?
Ready to see my 7 closet staples for those cute and simple fall outfits that you can pull from your closet easily? No more scratching your head, staring at your clothes wondering what to put together in the morning because with these staples you will look great, feel confident, and be comfortable and trendy!
Great Fitting Pair of Jeans
I don’t know about you but when I am wearing a great pair of jeans that hugs my curves and gives me coverage where I need it I feel confidence like no other! When a pair of jeans can suck in the jiggle and smooth out lumps well, happy dance it is! These are a few of my tried and true favorites!
I tend to have some ‘leftovers’ in my mid-section that I really need to work on erasing, but in the meantime I love t-shirts that are of the relaxed nature. I can no longer wear the ‘slim-fit’ tees that I wore in my 20’s. Plus, I find the relaxed tees way more comfortable. I will often purchase tees that are labeled as ‘tall’. I like having the extra length to cover my backside, and if they are a bit longer than I would like I just knot them on the side at the length I like. The longer length also helps with the “throw in the dryer oops”. There have been multiple times that I have desired to line dry my tees, but in the end they get thrown in the dryer and shrink. Purchasing the tall version of the tees has saved me so much frustration.
My absolute favorite tee is the Juniors SO relaxed pocket tee I have several of these that I honestly am wearing out. They are flowy and very versatile. I love them! I wear a size large in these tees. Here are a few others that I have tried that work well.
Long Open Cardigan
These have been lifesavers to layering. I tend to be a person who gets cold even in the warmest of buildings in the fall, and these have given that extra layer of warmth that I need. I have quite a few of these open cardigans and they haven’t disappointed me yet! The are a true staple in my closet.
Layering jackets are great for weekend activities to transition from summer to fall and even into the early winter months. I love thinner jackets that have several pockets especially for moms that need to store kid gadgets and snacks. These are staples in my closet.
Comfortable Neutral Booties
Let’s face it booties can be super cute and trendy, but if they hurt your feet what is the point? They have to be comfortable first and stylish second. I like to shop for a new pair of booties each fall season. These are some of the ones I have my eye on. I really like these styles.
Raise your hand if you love adding a scarf to your fall wardrobe outfits? ME!! I love how a scarf can pull your whole outfit together. Plus, it is an added layer of warmth for the chilly breezy fall days. The rust one is my first choice. It is such a gorgeous color for fall.
When selecting a bag for your fall wardrobe keep in mind that it should coordinate/work with your other staple pieces. I usually go with a simple cognac colored bag or other rich color tone that will fit together with my other pieces.
Here are a few outfits that I have pulled together for this fall season.
This neutral cardigan from Old Navy is great for those chilly evenings between summer and fall. I paired it with some beachy blues-this flowy blue tee is a perfect match with the most comfortable jeggings I have every worn!
Nothing says fall like a jean jacket! I love mine and have had it for several years. I actually have it in a few sizes for layering purposes because at times I like to wear a sweater underneath and the smaller size just doesn’t seem to be the most comfortable. These booties are from Target last year, but these black booties are very similar to the ones I have. And, the buffalo check scarf is super popular this fall season. I have seen quite a few buffalo check pumpkins at Hobby Lobby this week, so this is definitely on trend. I like to coordinate my home decor with my outfits. 🙂 I personally think buffalo check is pretty classic, so it is a great investment piece.
Guys, this rust/cognac color is my all time favorite. I have had this cardigan for a few years, but it has become a staple in my fall wardrobe. I love the hand knit look of it, and it pairs nicely with black. The dainty bracelet from Target is no longer available, but it is super cute. This bracelet has great details and would look great with this pairing.
So, what do you think of these staples for fall outfits? I find that these are such affordable choices that are stylish and comfortable. Which is your favorite?
